ALICE COOTE, AMBASSADOR
We are delighted to welcome British mezzo-soprano Alice Coote as a #SaveOurSubjects ambassador.
Established as a major star across both operatic and concert stages, mezzo-soprano Alice Coote is regarded as one of the great artists of our time. She has performed major roles on stages such as the Metropolitan Opera, Glyndebourne, Royal Opera House, Bayerische Staatsoper, Opéra de Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, LA Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Salzburg Festival. Equally acclaimed on the concert stage, she has performed with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Hallé and the Concertgebouw. A prolific recitalist, she has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Pushkin Museum Moscow and Vienna Konzerthaus among many others. She is due to perform the role of Cassandra in Berlioz's The Trojans in a European tour ending at the BBC Proms on 3 September and will appear in Handel's Jephtha at the Royal Opera House in London this autumn.
Alice is a strong supporter of the #SaveOurSubjects campaign, and the need to reverse the decline in arts subjects in our state school sector.

I'm supporting the #SaveOurSubjects campaign... to fight for a future that is not ever narrowing, that is bright and broad in its horizons due to a curriculum that fosters creativity...
